2010 : Away Day "Las Colinas"

Wednesday 28th July 2010 Venue Las Colinas

This was our first visit to Las Colinas and it will certainly not be our last. The course was in superb condition, the staff were friendly and efficient and the facilties overall first class.

We had one guest today and John won our guest prize with a great 35 points off 15 hcp.

Nearest the pin on Hole 5 sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello Edi Rogers hit a good shot early on and no one could better it.

On Hole 10 sponsored by CJ’s bar El Campello 96 563 2567 for the second week running Sandra Woodfine won a nearest the pin.

The Captain sponsored the two other par threes and on hole 7 Clive Dresner won with a fine shot. On hole 17 Les Wilkinson won a nearest the pin for the third week in a row, although this one was somewhat fortunate bounding along the rough between two bunkers and finishing two feet from the pin.

We had 4 twos today, having five par threes on the course obviously helped. Edi Rogers on the 10th and the 17th, James Burnet on the 7th and Dennis Pyman who sponsors this on the 5th.

5th Place with 31 points off 11 hcp was John Coubrough creeping up on Doris in the consistency table.

4th place with 33 points off 13 hcp Edi Rogers nice to see him playing well again.

3rd place with 33 points off 3 hcp Dennis Pyman winning on the back 6 and racing away at the top of the consistency league.

2nd place with 35 points off 22 hcp Angel Centenera nearly a win but not quite!

1st place with 36 points off 13 hcp the biggest golfer in Coveta Fuma Jeff Murten, well played Jeff.
