A beautiful day and thankfully the temperature rising daily, making very pleasant conditions for golf even with a strong wind. Today we had our second away day of this year and a competitive field produced a very close result. St Patrick’s Day as well and not an Irishman in sight.
We had 4 guests today and our largesse extended to two prizes, second place went to N.Bown with 27 points, and 1st place to R.Foxall with a very impressive 34 points, each received a bottle of wine.
Nearest the pin on Hole 3 sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello was won by Richard Davis, although the Captain told us that Richard was responsible for choosing the holes, nevertheless he still had to hit the shot!!
On Hole 12 sponsored by CJ’s bar El Campello 96 563 2567 Peter Corbett won with a great shot over the water but why no 2 Peter?
In the main Competition:
5th place with 33 points off 24 hcp Peter Corbett
4th place also with 33 points off 18 hcp Maurice Buol, now regularly picking up a prize.
3rd place with 34 points off 12 hcp Bob Crow the best the men could do today.
2nd place with 35 points off 28 hcp Doris Sherman-Earp our Captain.
1st place also with 35 points off 23 hcp Jan Hulican
So it’s the girls on top this week, and the boys had better start improving quickly.
