Venue Bonalba
Today we held our Monthly Medal in bright sunshine but blustery conditions, which together with difficult greens kept all the scores over par.
We had one guest today Dave Berry who has played with us before and we were pleased to present him with the guest prize
and welcome him back.
We also had one 2 today but as this was from Dennis Pyman who sponsors this he only gets a mention!
Nearest the pin on Hole 4 sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, was won by Eddie Rogers.
On Hole 14 sponsored by CJ’s bar El Campello 96 563 2567 Bob Crow won, although being a long way from the hole, he was the only one to find the green.
In 5th place with a net 77 off 21 hcp was Brian Hines, if only he had a 5 instead of the 10 he racked up on the
18th he would have won, ah well there’s always next month.
In 4th place also with a net 77 off 22 hcp winning on the back nine was Manuel Perez.
In 3rd place with a net 76 off 13 hcp came Stan Tarabula so close but no cigar, still he has now more points in the consistency league than he had all last year!
In 2nd place with a net 75 off 27 hcp was Doris Earp, she won the last two medals so I think the responsibility of Captaincy is proving difficult.
In 1st place with a net 75 off 4 hcp winning on the back nine, was Dennis Pyman, an excellent round in the conditions, and with no margin for error off his handicap.
Dennis is pictured with his son Iain who played with us today. Iain is a professional golfer on the Challenge Tour, and has also featured on the PGA Tour in past seasons, he has played with us before and will always receive a warm welcome from the Society.
New Members and Guests always welcome.
