Venue El Plantio
Our first away day of the year for the Away day Shield, sponsored by Bill Williams, was held at the ever popular El Plantio, where we received a warm welcome, and found the course in good condition. Afterwards we enjoyed an excellent lunch in the clubhouse, and we thank the staff for their attention and pleasant service.
The speedy greens prevented any of us recording a two today.
Our guest prize went to Jean Jaques Lavergne who scored 25 points of his 17 handicap, a good return on a course he had not played before.
Nearest the pin on Hole 9 sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, went to Maurice Buol, he finished only 2 feet away but missed the putt!!
On Hole 18 sponsored by CJ’s bar El Campello 96 563 2567 Stan Tarabula won with an impressive shot on this long par three.
Our Captain Angel sponsored two longest drives, the men’s being picked up by Dennis Pyman, and the Ladies by Maureen Fanti. Dennis also won nearest the pin in two at the par 4 6th hole, and Eddie Rogers won the nearest the pin in three on the par 5 2nd hole.
