Today there were two competitions, Angels matchplay knockout final and 3^rd /4^th place match, the rest of the members played a Stableford.

The knockout final was a close run thing between Stephen Grey and Angel Centenera until the back nine when Angel put together a good run of form to win by three holes with two to play.

He had also arranged for a buggy to dispense food and drink to the players as well as the supporters from the rest of the society who cheered on the players round the back nine, after they had finished their rounds.

The result of the 3^rd 4^th place match was extremely close between Paul Court and Eddie Rogers, each player was three holes ahead at different stages of the match, which eventually finished all square, and both players agreed to split the prize.

We thank Angel for his generosity in sponsoring this competition and forgive him for winning it !! 

 

Nearest the pin on Hole 4 sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, went to Maurice Buol, the second week in a row he has won one of these.

On Hole 14 sponsored by CJ’s bar El Campello 96 563 2567 Peter Corbett once again picked up a prize.

There were two 2’s today by Eddie Rogers on the 4^th and Stephen Grey on the 14^th each of them winning a ball.

Our Captain Angel sponsored nearest the pin in 2 on the 18^th and nearest the pin in three on the 5^th, both of these were won by Jim Hulican, although surprisingly he did not feature in the main prizes.

 

In the main competition:

5^th place with 33 points off 28 hcp was Ron MacMaster one point better than last week but two places lower !!

4^th place with 33 points off 17 hcp was Maurice Buol who seems to be coming into some good form.

3^rd place with 34 points off 12 hcp was Franco Fanti this is really an international leader board.

2^nd place with 35 points off 13 hcp was John Coubrough chasing after the consistency league title again.

 

1^st place with 39 points off 23 hcp a wonderful round by Jan Hulican, well played.
