Venue Bonalba

 

Back to Bonalba this week for a Stableford after the greens had been hollowed tined last week.

The work that has been done appears to be good but the deluge of rain that fell over the last week had made the greens very slow and tricky to read.

 

No doubt we will soon reap the benefits once they have dried out and been hand mown.

We had one guest today Otto who so enjoyed his day that he donated his prize to the lady he played with, what a lovely gesture.

 

Nearest the pin on Hole 4, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, once again Roger March won the bottle and I hear is looking to buy a new house with a larger cellar to accommodate his many prizes.

 

On Hole 8 sponsored by CJ’s Bar Campello 96 563 2567 Graham Sutton won again, the other week he won several nearest the pins, maybe we should think of alternative challenges to spread the prizes round, a bit.

 

Our Captain Angel was celebrating his birthday today and sponsored several other prizes, two nearest the pins on the 11^th and 14^th, Roger March (it’s that man again) won the first, and Eddie Rogers the second.

 

Ladies longest drive was won by Christiane Tarabula,

 

the mens for handicap under 18 by Dennis Pyman, and the mens over 19 hcp by Les Wilkinson .

 

Dennis also picked the prize for nearest the pin in 3 on the par 5 15^th.

 

The only two today went to Bill Williams who chipped in at the 14^th, well done Bill.

Our Stableford competition proved extremely close as follows.

 

In 5^th place with 33 points off 7 hcp Clive Dresner out of the frame for far too long.

In 4^th place also with 33 points off 20 hcp John Rigby winning on the back 9, a nice welcome back John.

In 3^rd place with 34 points off 9 hcp Roger March, it wouldn’t seem right if he wasn’t in the frame !

In 2^nd place with 35 points off 4 hcp Dennis Pyman consistent as ever.

 

In 1^st place with a magnificent 38 points today Eddie Rogers now back to his best form after some time in the doldrums. Well Played Eddie.
