A beautiful day with less heat and less humidity, in fact the perfect day for our Vice Presidents day. Sadly Neville was unable to play himself having sprained his wrist, but we hope to see him back playing soon.

Neville sponsored two nearest the pins on the 8^th and 14^th, both these were won by Graham Sutton.

Nearest the pin on Hole 4, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, was won by Les Wilkinson.

 

On Hole 11 sponsored by CJ’s Bar Campello 96 563 2567 Graham Sutton was once again the winner, those unkind folk who claim he normally wins these with a mishit cannot possibly believe he had three in one round, well done Graham.

We had two guests today and Henry picked up the guest prize with 31 points off 12 hcp.

The Vice President also sponsored two longest drives, the men’s being won by John Coubrough, and the Ladies by Sally Rippingale, obviously she had preserved her strength by persuading Rip to let her on his buggy!!

In addition we had second shot nearest the pin on hole 10, this was won by Clive Dresner. Then the third shot nearest the pin on hole 15 which went to Eddie Rogers.

 

The Competition was as usual very close although the strong wind on the back nine meant only one of us broke par.

5^th place with 34 points off 17 hcp  Paul Court third week in a row in the frame.

4^th place also with 34 points off 22 hcp Manuel Perez winning on the back nine.

3^rd place with 35 points off 15 hcp Eddie Rogers

2^nd place with 36 points off 22 hcp our Captain Angel Centenera

 

1^st place with 38 points off 13 hcp came John Coubrough, winner for the second consecutive week and closing the gap on Roger in the Consistency league to one point.

 

After golf we all went to Roger and Dorothy’s house for a buffet lunch prepared by a bevy of beautiful girls, our thanks to both Roger and Dorothy for their kindness and hospitality. We also thank all those who helped to make this such a very pleasant occasion, and of course to Neville and his wife Sandra for organising and sponsoring the competition.
