The hot sultry weather seems to have been with us for months, and with the humidity up in the high 80 per cent range makes us poor old pensioners wilt on the second nine holes. This seems to be especially true of our Medal rounds, which we usually have on the first Wednesday of the month. Today there were 3 scores of 13 on a hole and several 11’s.

 

For the first time in three weeks we had a 2!!! James Burnet was the culprit on the 8^th, and duly received his ball as reward. 

Nearest the pin on Hole 8, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, was won not surprisingly by James Burnet as well.

 

On Hole 14 sponsored by CJ’s Bar Campello 96 563 our Captain Angel Centenera won the bottle to make up for his horrific 11 on a par 5.

On Hole 4 sponsored by Bonalba Edi Rogers won the bag of goodies, our thanks to the management of Bonalba for their continued support.

 

Today Angel had nearest the pin in 2 on the 18^th,which was won by Paul Court, being the only person to be on the green in two!

On the 2^nd nearest the pin in 3 went to Roger March, adding to his vast cellar.

 

In 5^th place with a net 75 off 15 hcp was Edi Rogers losing out on the back nine.

In 4^th place also with a net 75 off 16 hcp Maurice Buol, one of our newer members beginning to appear consistently in the frame.

In 3rd place also with a net 75 off 23 hcp came Brian Hines having the best back nine, also a newer member beginning to win a few bottles.

In 2^nd place with a net 73 off 17 hcp came Paul Court, one place better than last week, can he do the same next week?

In 1^st place with a net 70 off 13 hcp John Coubrough now really putting pressure on Roger at the top of the consistency league.
