Another hot and sultry day tested our endurance to the full. The course was in good condition, and we were warmly welcomed by the management of the golf course.

We welcomed 3 guests today two of them former members, and one of these Paul Cartwright won the guest prize with an impressive 37 points off his 7 handicap. Well played Paul.

As last week there were no 2’s once again saving Dennis some balls.

Nearest the pin on Hole 3, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, was won by Les Wilkinson.

On Hole 7 sponsored by CJ’s Bar Campello 96 563 2567 Edi Rogers became a late winner of this par three over the water.

We are becoming used to our Captain sponsoring several extra prizes each week, and today was no exception, nearest the pin on the par three 12^th and 14^th holes as well as nearest the pin in three on the par 5 4^th hole, these were all won by Roger March who nearly was on the green in 2 at the 4^th!!

He also sponsored the longest drives for men and ladies, on the 8^th hole Paul Court picked up the mens’ prize, and on hole 16 Dorothy March the ladies.

In 5^th place with 35 points off 2 handicap Dennis Pyman, beating Brian Hines on the back 9.

In 4^th place with 35 points off 24 hcp Dorothy March pipping both the previous two on the back 9.

In 3^rd place with 36 points off 15 hcp Paul Court, one day he will break par!

In 2^nd place with 37 points off 8 hcp Roger March, extending his lead in the consistency league.

In 1^st place with 38 points off 21 hcp Les Wilkinson, he has not been in the frame all year, but is obviously running into form before the major competitions.

The March family picked up SIX bottles between them today so it’s Party time this weekend.
