We went to Alicante Golf competing for our away day trophy, sponsored by Bill Williams, the weather was hot and and the humidity in the 90's but we soldiered on and there were several excellent scores, and to the pleasure of our handicap secretary a few to cut.

 

We had four guests today and they all played really well, two of them scoring 38 points which was not enough to win, as Noel recorded an outstanding 40 points, he will playing off a lower handicap next time he plays with us.

On Hole 3, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, Roger March once again showed his class and added to his large cellar.

On Hole 6 sponsored by sponsored by CJ's Bar Campello 96 563 2567 one of our newer members Maurice Buol won for the first time well done.

Our Captain sponsored nearest the pins at the 12^th, which was won by Dennis Pyman, and at the 17^th won by Paul Court.

 

There were three 2's today by Roger March, John Coubrough and Dennis Pyman, the first two receiving a ball from Dennis who sponsors this competition.

Our Captain sponsored two longest drives today, the first for men was won by Paul Court on the 13th hole, the second for ladies was won by Diane one of our guests on hole 14.

Results.

 

In 5^th place scoring 32 points off 14 hcp was Stan Tarabula, and this after not playing for two weeks due to illness.

In 4^th place with 37 points off 5 hcp Dennis Pyman

In 3^rd place also with 37 points off 14 hcp Gerard Vincenti winning on the back nine.

In 2^nd place with 38 points off 14 hcp Richard Davis coming back to the form he showed earlier in the year.

In 1^st place also with 38 points off 13 hcp James Burnet winning on the back nine, and nice to see him in the winners enclosure again.
