Today we held our Monthly Medal delayed from last week due to our trip to Guadalajara. The course was in fine condition with the greens getting ever faster. The weather is also hotting up and today was glorious sunshine and not too much humidity.

 

Nearest the pin on Hole 14, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello,

was won by Clive Dresner.

On Hole 4, sponsored by CJ's Bar Campello 96 563 2576 John Claridge took the honours away from John Coubrough who must have thought he had won being only a couple of feet from the pin.

On hole 11 sponsored by Bonalba our Captain Angel Centenera proved to be the best.

On hole 8 sponsored by our Captain, Richard Davis continued to keep his name on the flags for nearest the pin.

 

The Captain also sponsored the nearest the pin in 3 on the 15^th and nearest the pin in two on the 16^th, the first was won by Richard Davis (it's that man again), and the second by Denis Pyman.

There were also two 2's today by John Claridge and Clive Dresner each winning a ball.

 

In the main Competition :

In 5^th place with a net 74 off 32 Handicap Sandra Woodfine.

In 4^th place with a net 74 off 28 hcp Ron MacMaster winning on the back nine.

In 3^rd place with a net par 72 off 20 hcp Brian Rippingale, his second good performance in a row.

In 2^nd place also with a net 72 off 23 hcp Manuel Perez with a better back 9.

 

The winner today with a magnificent net 69 off 18 hcp Brian Fell who is soon going back to Scotland and obviously wanted to have a better handicap! I hope you will be able to come back on Presentation day next January for your prize Brian.

The President Manolo Garay expressed his extreme disappointment that only 19 out of 28 players had turned up for the presentation of prizes.

He appreciated that there were occasionally emergency reasons that people could not stay, but it seemed to him that this was happening more often with more people.

He reminded everyone that we were a society and it was important to show respect for other members on these occasions. This matter would be discussed at the next committee meeting.
