Venue El Plantio
Today was our second Away Day of the year sponsored by Bill Williams, and we came to the friendly staff at El Plantio, the course proved to be in good condition with the only downside being the length of the round at five and a half hours a bit too long.
The weather was fine and we just had to get on with it, despite the frustration of having to wait on many shots.
Our Captain, Angel, sponsored several prizes today which is much appreciated by all the members of the society.
Nearest the pin on the 7th was won by Paul Court.
The Ladies longest drive by Christiane Tarabula now running into form after her long lay off.
The mens' longest drive went to Clive Dresner who played well all day.
Nearest the pin in two on the 3rd hole was won by Richard Davis, and the third shot nearest the pin on hole 2 by Denis Pyman.
We had one guest today and not surprisingly Clive Cox picked up the prize with an excellent 32 points, which many members wished they had scored.
Nearest the pin on Hole 9, sponsored by Fiona, Gestoria of El Campello, was won by Dorothy March, well done Dorothy keeps Roger in his place.
On Hole 18, sponsored by CJ's Bar Campello 96 563 2576 our Captain Angel came to the fore with a fine shot.
Sadly there were no two's today which pleased Denis Pyman who sponsors this prize.
In our Stableford competition:
5th Place with 30 points off 16 hcp was Paul Court beating Richard and Doris on the back nine.
4th place with 30 points off 22 hcp Angel Centenera with the best back nine.
