Winner 'stroke play competition'
December 2007
A beautiful December day, which serves to remind us why we live in Spain. We had our monthly medal competition in perfect golfing conditions and the members had to cope with the usual disasters and triumphs.
How can you birdie one hole and the get a quadruple bogey on the next?
Our Captain was heard to remark that in Medals the cream rises to the top, and that was certainly true today, but I wonder what goes in the other direction ?
There were two 2’s today and our new sponsor (Dennis Pyman) provided the balls for Helmut Trixl (our oldest active golfer at 82 years of age), and the hirsutely challenged Edi Rogers!
Nearest the pin on hole 14 sponsored by ourselves was Les Wilkinson.
